Minus Us

Minus Us is the college and career group at First Baptist.  Composed of most twenty somethings, Minus Us is a dynamic and active group of young men and women. 

Minus Us recognizes that we are called together by God to have fellowship with Him and each other, to build each other up in love, and to serve Him and His Kingdom.  We meet weekly for study, prayer, and fellowship. 

We recognize that being called together, we must work to remain connected and to support each other in our ministries inside the church and in the world.  To that end, in addition to study Minus Us has a rich social calendar.  Monthly dinners together, bi-annual retreats and camping trips, holiday parties, birthday celebrations, summer sports, and member planned recreational activities help us remain connected.

Minus Us members have a variety of ways to serve God and His people through the ministries of First Baptist Church.  Opportunities for service include: 

• Helping with the Neighborhood Fellowship by preparing meals or serving as hosts and greeters.

• Befriending and tutoring at risk kids from Horace Mann with KIDZ GIG.

• Helping in the weekly medical clinic and Sunday morning medical clinics.

• Summer Mission Trips.

Members may also serve on the sound committee, participate in worship by leading singing, providing instrumental music, and helping with the ministry to youth by being small group leaders. 

Minus Us is open to any post-high school young adult,  single or married, who desires to be a serious student of the scriptures, takes seriously the command to fellowship and to service in the world.
