The gospel of Christ is vibrantly alive among a body of Chinese worshipers at First Baptist Church. This fellowship of Chinese individuals and their friends meets weekly for worship, Sunday school, and various afternoon activities.
We meet on Wednesday evening for praise and prayer and on Friday evening for a fellowship meal, singing and Bible study. At various times during the week there are Bible studies at the university, or one-on-one sessions at home. Once or twice a year we host a weekend conference taught by seminary professors. We also celebrate many Chinese and American holidays and spend time together forming friendships.
Our fellowship includes the elderly, families, singles, college students, believers, nonbelievers, seekers, children and youth. We plan programs, Bible studies, and activities for all of these.
Our main emphasis is glorifying God by following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, seeking to understand Christ and all He has done for us, carefully and thoroughly studying His Word and applying it to our lives and problems.
The Christian Witness Center in Warsaw, MO provides many opportunities for our ministry through their Christmas outreach, summer retreat, Bible Camp, Gospel camp, youth camp, and discipleship trainings throughout the year.
Jin Zhong is the Director of the Chinese Fellowship, shepherding and overseeing its activities. She received her M.A in Biblical Studies from Calvary Theological Seminary in 2007. Jin ministers with a group of faithful servant leaders in the fellowship to make disciples for Christ in Wichita (John. 21:15-17).
