As you step into our building at Second and Broadway, you will find a wide range of people who benefit from the cultural and economic diversity. At first glance we seem quite unlike each other. But we share a love for Christ, God’s Word, and each other, and we have a passion for sharing God’s love. We are quite upfront with the fact that we are in the process of becoming. God’s work in our church family is a long-term process. Our mission and intent is to become
serious disciples of Jesus Christ, united in a worshiping missionary community
Our large building is an asset that accommodates worship in multiple cultural styles. We watch over individuals speaking Arabic, Chinese, English, Laotian or Thai, and Spanish. We also have a targeted ministry with our urban poor and homeless neighbors. While our cultural backgrounds are distinct, we worship the same God. This is what is primary to us. God deserves to be center stage.
You will find our building at the northwest corner of Second and Broadway, with parking immediately north of the building extending to Third Street.
Sunday is our main gathering time. But you cannot make real connections with people when you join us only for worship. We urge you to look for a Lifegroup, Sunday school class, fellowship opportunity, or Bible study, and perhaps a place to serve and minister to others. These are all opportunities for personal growth during the week, enabling you to begin to make true friends, support change and growth, and come to understand and become a part of our journey together.
Other information that you may find helpful include an explanation of our identity (who we really are as a group here at First Baptist), beliefs, history, a partial listing of staff, information about our lay leadership and an explanation of membership.
